Rekindling the Spark of Genuine Learning. A Student's Perspective on Schools with No Tuition Policy.

Awake at 7AM, school at 8AM, home at 3PM, tuition by 4PM, back home at 10PM – rise and repeat. This relentless cycle, unfortunately, epitomizes the reality of numerous O/A level students today. The encroaching tendrils of private tuition seem to have strangled the joyous symphony of student life – a delicate blend of academics, familial warmth, and fulfilling social interactions.

Ponder for a moment. Amid this relentless rhythm, can one truly savor moments of joy with family and friends, knowing the prospect of yet another exhausting day looms near?

Granted, some manage to skillfully weave social interaction into this rigorous routine. However, the majority finds this an uphill battle. We mustn't forget the pivotal role hobbies and sound sleep play in our lives. They offer a sanctuary from everyday stressors, enabling relaxation and pursuit of passions.

Evening tuitions, initially a beacon of hope, have subtly morphed into stress catalysts. Students themselves have unwittingly chained themselves to this burdensome routine. Traditional school and college classes have lost their appeal to these wearied pupils, leading to frequent class bunking, drowsiness, and pranks, as attention spans dwindle.

The consequences of such disengagement are severe. Students inadvertently deprive themselves of the rich educational experience offered by schools despite the hefty fees parents invest. This self-inflicted harm ripples beyond classrooms, affecting social interactions, encroaching upon their precious teenage years, and wastefully spending their parents' hard-earned resources. This may appear to maximize educational benefits in the short-term, but the long-term implications are concerning – hindering academic progress, escalating stress levels, depriving students of quality sleep, and causing them to miss out on life's quintessential pleasures – family time, sports, mental wellbeing, and authentic educational experiences.

Numerous elements contribute to this lukewarm approach towards school education – aversion to schoolteachers or institutional policies, a lack of self-driven study efforts, and an over-reliance on private tuitions. After squandering valuable time on trivial activities, students are left with no choice but to attend private tuitions to make up for their learning gaps and aim for acceptable grades.

Not only does this result in monumental waste of time, but parents are also saddled with additional financial responsibilities. Disturbingly, this culture is often endorsed by influential figures, subtly manipulating impressionable students. When high achievers open private tuition centers, students are led to believe that this is the sole path to academic success.

But the blame doesn't lie with these successful individuals. The call to action is clear – it's time to reclaim your life from this grueling cycle, rekindle the joy in your daily routine, and rediscover the beauty of learning.

Embrace what's needed when it's needed. Consider schools that advocate a no tuition policy, as they strive to empower their students towards holistic and fruitful educational experiences. The power is in your hands. Remember, your life is more than a mechanical routine; it's a vibrant journey waiting to be savored. Let's strive together to lower the tuition culture, reignite our hobbies, and revive the life pulsating in our social interactions.
