Why the covers look like that

Look at any cover and you will see coloured blocks. They are not decoration. Each block is a syllabus section, and its size is the number of marks that section earns on the real past papers. On O Level Paper 2, for example, section 8.1 (programming) is worth about 39 marks a paper, so it is the biggest block on the cover.

Each block also carries a letter:

  • B = Banker
  • C = Core
  • R = Regular
  • O = Occasional

The books spend their pages the same way. The sections that carry the most marks get the most explanation, the most worked examples and the most practice. You can see where the marks live before you open page one.

Every answer checked by a machine

Every worked answer in these books was run through real engines before it went to print: the same pseudocode interpreter, SQL engine, assembler and Python runner that students use free on cswithzak.com. If the book says a program prints 42, it really prints 42. And every section points you to the free practice on the website that goes with it.
